There should be closer contacts between the representatives of the businesses in Bulgaria and China, stated at a meeting the President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng. A Bulgarian Parliamentary delegation is on a visit to China.
In the recent years at least 30 delegations with representatives of various Chinese companies visited Bulgaria, said Tsetska Tsacheva. She specified that days before her visit to Beijing a company had been on a visit to Bulgaria, which had been interested in building a plant for electric cars in our country and informed the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of the excellent conditions for development of business and investment in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria is a country with well-developed agriculture and production of foodstuffs that could be sold on the Chinese market, stated the President of the National Assembly. We remain with the hope that very shortly а memorandum will be signed between the ministries of agriculture and food of the two countries, so as to facilitate faster completion of procedures for import of Bulgarian agricultural products and foodstuffs to China, added Tsetska Tsacheva.
Bilateral cooperation should not only be led by the governments of Bulgaria and China, but partnerships between representatives of the businesses should be sought, while the two governments should only support them, noted at the meeting the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng. He said that there were prospects for development of bilateral cooperation in agriculture and transport infrastructure.
Yu Zhengsheng stated that in the last few years bilateral relations between Bulgaria and China had developed rapidly and in 2014 they were raised to the level of multilateral partnership and cooperation. This shapes the direction of development of our cooperation in the future, he added.
The Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference congratulated the delegation and personally the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova on the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China.
There are no outstanding issues in the relationships between Bulgaria and China, the two countries have been maintaining diplomatic relations over 67 years, which is a good basis on which today’s politicians and statesmen should build further, stated the President of the National Assembly. The President of the National Assembly identified areas of interest for Bulgaria in the implementation of joint projects such as infrastructure, transport, science, culture, education and innovations. In the words of Tsetska Tsacheva there are excellent conditions for enhancing the tourist flow. In the past year the number of Chinese tourists grew by 11 per cent, she specified.
The number of Chinese tourists in Bulgaria could increase at least 10 times, said the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. In the past year more than 100 million Chinese travelled outside China for the purposes of tourism, he added.
Included in the delegation, which is on an official visit to China, are the Deputy Presidents of the National Assembly Yanaki Stoilov, Krasimir Karakachanov and Yavor Notev, the Co-chairman of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – China Dimitar Boychev, the members of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – China Dzeyhan Ibryamov, Borislav Milanov and Rosen Petrov, the Chairman of the Defence Committee Miho Mihov, the Deputy Chairperson of the Culture and Media Committee Irena Sokolova and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova.
