The Deputy President of the National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev had talks with the President of the Parliament of Monte Negro Darko Pajovic. Present at the meeting were the Chairman of the Friendship Group Monte Negro – Bulgaria Tarzan Milosevic and the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Monte Negro Mladen Chervenyakov. In the plenary hall, the guests witnessed the ratification of the Protocol to the North Atlantic Treaty for the accession of Monte Negro.
It is an extraordinary privilege to meet at this crucial time, noted the Deputy President of the National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev and noted that historically the relationships between the two countries were very good and set an example to the Balkans. He added that our country aimed to pursue a policy of friendship, particularly in respect of brotherly and close peoples like the people of Monte Negro. The Deputy President of the Parliament highlighted the European and Euro-Atlantic orientation as particularly important priorities for both countries. We are glad you often seek our experience and I hope Monte Negro will join the family of the European Union in the near future, said Dimitar Glavchev.
The President of the Parliament of Monte Negro Darko Pajovic expressed his gratitude for the support provided by Bulgaria in regard to its Euro-Atlantic integration. He stressed the importance of the stability and consistency of the policy of Monte Negro towards Europe. In his words, the ties between Bulgaria and Monte Negro have a huge potential for development in the areas of tourism, economy and industry. I am convinced that bilateral relations will go in an upward orbit, Darko Pajovic added.
The President of the Skupstina of Monte Negro met with the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee at the National Assembly Dzhema Grozdanova. Bulgaria has opted to support Monte Negro for deployment of the Permanent Secretariat of the South-East European Cooperation Process in Sofia.
