01/07/2016
There is a great potential for development of cooperation between Bulgaria and China in the field of cultural and historical tourism, said Tsetska Tsacheva during a meeting with the Chairman of China's Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress Chairman Lou Qinjie. The Bulgarian parliamentary delegation  visited Xian - the capital of Shaanxi Province. The purpose of the official visit to China is to find new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and basically to promote contacts between business representatives, the President of the National Assembly pointed out. Tsetska Tsacheva noted that excellent relations existed between the two countries but there was unused potential for development of cooperation in particular fields.
Bulgaria offers excellent opportunities for all-year-round tourism, our country has century-old history and many monuments of culture, said the President of the Bulgarian Parliament.  Excellent conditions are created for attracting investment from China, Tsetska Tsacheva added.

Shaanxi is a big province with many universities and scientific institutions and therefore it is a potential source of cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture, noted the Chairman of China's Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress Chairman Lou Qinjie during the meeting. He said that they were willing to promote cooperation in the fields of industry and trade as well.

Bulgaria supports the Chinese initiative “One Belt, One Road”, noted the President of the National Assembly. We saw here that you highly value the past – the history and cultural heritage of your province - and we are impressed by the scale of construction – boulevards, railways, residential complexes, said Tsetska Tsacheva said.
For us is important to promote cooperation between local authorities, we know that you have dialogue with our ancient capital Veliko Tarnovo and we hope that this relationship will develop further, the President of Parliament stated. Tsetska Tsacheva specified that a Confucius institute had been established at Veliko Tarnovo University, which was the second largest in Bulgaria and worked actively for promoting the Chinese language and culture in our country.

Shaanxi Province has a population of 37 million and is situated in the central part of China, Lou Qinjie said. Its economy has been developing rapidly, marking an 8 per cent growth last year. In the recent years growth has slowed down, but this reflects the structure of our province’s industry, which is leading in China in terms of oil and natural gas extraction, and the coal mined in the province in 2015 is over 60 billion tonnes.
Earlier in the day the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation visited the Museum of the Terracotta Army, announced to be part of the world cultural heritage by UNISECO. The President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva wrote in the museum’s book of official guests.

Included in the delegation, which is  on a visit to China, are the Deputy Presidents of the National Assembly Yanaki Stoilov, Krasimir Karakachanov and Yavor Notev, the Co-chairman of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – China Dimitar Boychev, the members of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – China Dzeyhan Ibryamov, Borislav Milanov and Rosen Petrov, the Chairman of the Defence Committee Miho Mihov, the Deputy Chairperson of the Culture and Media Committee  Irena Sokolova and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova.
