Today, 6 July 2004, National Assembly President Gerdjikov addressed the Parliament on the occasion of the constituting of the 39th National Assembly 3 years ago.

In his speech, he summarized the greatest achievements in realization of Bulgaria’s national priorities that happened in the third year of the National Assembly’s term, namely the recent Bulgaria’s full NATO membership and the conclusion of the process of accession negotiations with the European Union.

The President of the National Assembly expressed his gratitude to the administrative staff of the National Assembly, as well as to the Advisory Council on Legislation for their competent and valuable support. He thanked all his colleagues MPs for their intensive work in the parliamentary committees and in plenary.

Prof. Gerdjikov identified as one of the 39th NA’s achievements its ability to seek tolerance and mutual respect based on principles such as transparency and publicity.
