Declaration of the National Assembly on the Bulgarian hostage crisis in Iraq

Today the National Assembly adopted a declaration on the Bulgarian hostage crisis in Iraq.
In the document, the MPs of the 39th National Assembly declare that having in mind the dramatic situation with the abduction of the two Bulgarians in Iraq and the information that one of them has been executed, they express their sincere compassion to the relatives and support to the efforts of the state institutions concerning the latest tragic events.
The presence of Bulgarians in Iraq has the objective to help the Iraqi people to achieve peace and security, the declaration says.
The Republic of Bulgaria will continue its foreign policy in execution of its international commitments arising from the UN resolutions for the restoration, stabilisation and democratization of Iraq, the MPs declare.
The Bulgarian people will meet united the trials in defending all-human values against terrorism in all its forms, the declaration concluded.
