Diana Yordanova and Boyko Atanasov, Deputy Chairs of the Financial Supervision Commission, have sworn an oath of allegiance to the National Assembly. Yesterday the two of them were elected by the Parliament to head the Commission’s Security Supervision Division and Investment Supervision Division.

The amendments to the Integration of People with Disabilities Act passed first reading with a unanimous vote of 141 MPs at the Parliament. The Council of Ministers, which proposed the amendments, explained that the main goal is to alleviate the administrative burden for people with disabilities. The amendments will have a positive impact on around 530,000 persons with disabilities, said the Deputy Chair of the Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy, Svetlana Angelova. In her words, the amendments will streamline the work and enhance the quality of social services.

New buildings, which are going to be overhauled, will be required to have the physical infrastructure to deploy high-speed electronic communications networks. This is envisaged in the bill on electronic communications networks and physical infrastructure, which passed first reading at the National Assembly. The draft, proposed by the United Patriots Parliamentary Group, provides for the lifting of the requirement for detailed spatial plan when the route of the physical infrastructure of those networks is in the vicinity of an existing road and the servitude of gas pipelines, electricity pipelines, sewage networks, railroad lines, or other existing networks.

The amendments provide for a requirement that the network operators should give access and facilitate the use of the existing infrastructures under previously announced conditions, stipulated in a written contract with the electronic communications network operator.
