The amendments to the Tax and Social Security Procedure Code, which passed first reading, will guarantee that the Customs Agency and the municipalities will be able to provide electronically ex officio information about debt status. The amendments aim to lift the administrative burden for citizens and the business by revoking the requirement for providing paper copies of some official certifying documents.

The Bill envisages amendments to the Local Tax and Fees Act in order to facilitate administrative service and increase control on the annual vehicle inspection by using automated systems for information exchange to check tax debt status.

The National Assembly passed at second reading amendments to the Special Intelligence Means Act. The amendments will introduce mandates for the Chair of the Technical Operations State Agency, which will run for 5 years. The amendments also bring into line the status of the Chair of the Technical Operations State Committee with that of the Heads of other security services: National Security State Agency, Intelligence State Agency, Military Information Service of the Ministry of Defence and the National Protective Services.

The Parliament unanimously re-elected Maxim Minchev as Director General of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. He then took an oath before the National Assembly.
