Chair of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee Tsvetan Tsvetanov held an off-site Committee meeting in Ruse. He said that there was a shortage of highly qualified workforce in Bulgaria, which created a legal opportunity for our country to have a high-tech development, instead of attracting low-skilled workers.

With regard to the approval of the bill to amend the Ministry of the Interior Act on the so called Blue Card, Tsvetan Tsvetanov explained that the deadline for high-skilled workers who wished to come and work in our country would be extended. From this perspective, we think that the bill is good and will provide an opportunity for Bulgarian communities living in Moldova, Ukraine an Albania to find high-skilled jobs in Bulgaria, said the Chair of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee.

In his words, when there is first and second voting, MPs make proposals, while a group of experts from the relevant institutions are involved in fine-tuning the texts. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of the Interior Krasimir Tsipov, Senior Commissioner Asen Ignatov, Deputy Director of Fire Protection and Protection of Population General Directorate.

At 15:00 there will be a bilateral meeting between Tsvetan Tsvetanov and Dorel Gheorghe Capral, Chair of the Defence, Public Order and National Security Committee at the Romanian Chamber of Deputies.

At 16:00 there will be a joint meeting of the Internal Security and Public Order Committee at the 44th National Assembly and the Defence, Public Order and National Security Committee at the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament.
