Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has opened “A Little Man in the Big War” exhibition in the National Museum of Military History together with Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov. The exposition is part of the National Plan for commemorating the 100th anniversary of WWI and Bulgaria’s participation in it.
Tonight we can see the other side of the war, not the heroic side, but the sad one, said the Speaker of Parliament at the opening. We should remember these deeply touching images and tell our children about this part of our past and ordinary people, added Tsveta Karayancheva. We should remember those Bulgarians who went to war, left their families and children, and became soldiers overnight, to defend and unite their Fatherland. Let us remember that they fought together for Bulgaria and that big things are done by little, ordinary people, said the Speaker of Parliament.
That is why today we too, as politicians, should be united, following the slogan on the building of the National Assembly: “United we stand strong”, said Tsveta Karayancheva at the exhibition.
The exhibition portrays the big war through the eyes of the little man, the soldier, sent to the battlefield, the wife, left alone in the struggle for survival, the children, deprived of childhood.
