Emil Hristov from GERB political party group is the new Deputy Speaker of Parliament. His nomination was presented by Chair of GERB political party group Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
Emil Hristov graduated from the Military High School in Shumen and the Military Academy in Sofia, served two mandates as a Chair of the Municipal Council in Stara Zagora and the National Association of Chairs of Municipal Councils in Bulgaria. We believe that as an experienced and active MP, he will be a respectable Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, said Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
Amendments to the Ministry of the Interior Act passed second reading. The amendments will also affect the Road Traffic Act. The Parliament’s decision is that the registration of a vehicle will be suspended, if a serious technical fault is found at the vehicle inspection. The Ministry of the Interior and the Automobile Administration Executive Agency will exchange technical data about registered vehicles and their periodic technical inspection. In case a serious technical fault is found at the vehicle inspection, the Automobile Administration Executive Agency will notify the Ministry of the Interior to suspend the registration of the vehicle. Once the notification reaches the Ministry of the Interior’s automatic information system, the vehicle’s registration will be suspended and the owner notified.
Once the serious technical fault is repaired and the vehicle inspected, the Automobile Administration Executive Agency will notify the Ministry of the Interior and the vehicle registration will be restored without implementing a new registration procedure.
Another decision of the parliament is that a fine from 500-3,000 BGN will be imposed on a driver who disregards a road sign prohibiting the entry of vehicles above the designated size, weight, or axle load.
