Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva and MPs have attended the celebration of the 126th anniversary of the Military Medical Academy.
The Speaker of Parliament received the guard of honour by the National Guards Unit and attended the flower laying ceremony at the monument of the military medical officers who died in the wars.
Today’s celebration makes us all proud, because for more than a century, the Military Hospital has been a leading example, a symbol of trust, prestige and professionalism, said Tsveta Karayancheva at the ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the anniversary. To be a medical officer in the military is a synonym of courage, valour, selflessness and integrity, she added. The Speaker of Parliament thanked all doctors and medical staff of the hospital for their mission in the name of people’s health. Anniversaries like today suggest that one takes stock of what one has achieved, and you can be proud because you have a solid infrastructure, stable management, well-deserved recognition, national and international awards, said Tsveta Karayancheva.
She added that quality healthcare and the status of Bulgarian doctors would be among the Parliament’s priorities. The Speaker of Parliament presented a honorary plaque of the National Assembly to professor Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, director of the hospital, on the occasion of the celebration.
At the ceremonial meeting, awards were presented to doctors working in the hospital.
