Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has presented the annual award “Bulgaria’s Agrobusinessman” for 2017. The award, presented since 1991 by “Bulgarian farmer” newspaper, has been given to Nikolay Stefchov.
Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva said that Bulgarian agriculture is a very important part of the economy, and the EU funding helps modernise and further develop this sector.
In her address to the participants in the annual meeting of the agrobusiness with the management of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and State Fund Agriculture, the Speaker of Parliament emphasised that Bulgarian agricultural producers absorb 73 per cent of the EU funds. We are trying to facilitate this process as much as possible and we count on you, if there are any problems, we want together to help these subsidies reach each agricultural producer more quickly and easily, said Tsveta Karayancheva.
“Bulgarian farmer” newspaper has traditions, it informs Bulgarian farmers, respects their opinions and puts forward issues from the agenda of the Bulgarian agricultural sector, said Tsveta Karayancheva. She addressed the editorial board of the newspaper and wished them to continue to help Bulgarian farmers and present to them the most recent developments in agriculture for many years to come.
“Bulgaria’s Agrobusinessman” award, presented since 1991, is given to businessmen for their outstanding ideas, projects and innovations, whose efforts help bring Bulgarian agriculture up to the level of the leading countries in the sector in Europe and worldwide.
