Prof. Gerdjikov met with the President of the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic

National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov met with the President of the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic, Mr. Joao Bosco Mota Amaral.
I am looking forward to the day when Bulgaria will become a full member of the European Union in January 2007, the President of the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic, Mr. Joao Bosco Mota Amaral, said after his meeting with Bulgarian National Assembly President.
Prof. Gerdjikov thanked his guest for Portugal’s support for Bulgaria’s efforts towards EU membership and its accession to NATO.
He also voiced the hope that the forthcoming report of the European Commission on Bulgaria’s progress towards membership would find that Bulgaria is honouring all commitments assumed under negotiation chapters.
The two agreed that the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Portugal are excellent.
