Georgia is still a priority on the agenda of Bulgaria and NATO said Chair of the Defence Committee General Konstantin Popov at a meeting with representatives of the Georgian media and the Diplomatic institute.
The cooperation and development of the countries from the Western Balkans and the Black Sea region, which are main priorities of the forthcoming first Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, were discussed at the meeting. Within the presidency, in February 2018, Sofia will host a large inter-parliamentary conference on these two topics with the participation of representatives of all EU member states, as well as the Western Balkan countries, explained General Konstantin Popov.
In response to a question from the Georgian media, members of the Defence Committee Emil Hristov, Zapryan Yankov and Slavi Netsov emphasised that there should be determination and persistence in order to achieve the desired results.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Georgian public radio and television, Pirveli information agency and Starvision TV.
