The Parliament has approved for a second time the bill on the 2018 National Health Insurance Fund Budget and overridden the presidential veto. Out of 221 MPs, 126 were in favour of the bill on the NHIF Budget, and 95 against.
The bill passed second reading in Parliament on 29 November 2017 and was then sent back for a new debate by a decree of President Rumen Radev on 8 December 2017. The veto related to a text introducing a temporary moratorium on reimbursement of new medicines.
