Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva presented 2017Student of the Year award at an official ceremony to honour the winners of the Student of the Year national award of the National Representation of Student Councils.
The winner was law student Anna Maria Lyubchova-Atanasova from Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski, who was member of the Sofia University team participating in the largest international competition in EU law in 2017.
Tonight we celebrate youth, talent, creativity, art and innovations, said Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva in her address to the participants and guests of the ceremony.
She congratulated all winning and nominated students. You are today’s enlighteners – people full of energy, knowledge, talent and skills, she said. Thanks to such capable young people like you, Bulgaria will continue its way to the future with confidence, and live forever, she said. Tsveta Karayancheva wished them to make Bulgaria famous with their success and pass on their knowledge to the next generations.
The aim of the Student of the Year national award is to honour the most active students in all areas of science, art and sports. It is given for the eleventh time. The winners are students in pedagogy, the humanities, social science, economics, law, natural science, computer science and mathematics, technology, agriculture and veterinary medicine, healthcare, sports, arts, security and defence, as well as international students and PhD students.
The ceremony was attended by chairs of parliamentary committees and MPs.
