Since the beginning of its mandate, the 44th National Assembly has adopted 72 bills, 181 decisions and two declarations. This information has been provided by the parliamentary press office and Plenary Sessions, Parliamentary Control and Final Texts Directorate.

164 bills, 91 of which sponsored by MPs, were introduced to Parliament in the period 19 April – 21 December 2017. There were 170 draft decisions, 153 of which proposed by MPs.

Since the beginning of its mandate, the 44th National Assembly has held 92 plenary sittings, 3 of which extraordinary.

The time used for parliamentary control in 2017 was 88 hours and 58 minutes. There were debates following 10 interpellations by MPs, and 4 hearings.

Second session

In its second session, the 44th National Assembly adopted 54 bills and 72 decisions. The Parliament held 46 regular and 3 extraordinary plenary sittings.

In the period 1 September – 21 December 2017, 90 bills were introduced to Parliament, 41 of which sponsored by MPs. There were 52 draft decisions, 47 of which proposed by MPs, and one draft address and declaration.

Some of the new acts adopted by Parliament are on Anti-Corruption and Forfeiture of Unlawfully Acquired Assets, State Aid, Concessions, 2018 National Budget, etc. The Parliament also approved amendments to the Civil Procedure Code, Taxation and Social Security Procedure Code, Penal Code, Labour Code, Social Security Code, etc.

The time used for parliamentary control in the second session of the 44th National Assembly was 44 hours and 51 minutes. 15 plenary sittings included parliamentary control.

In the period 1 September – 21 December 2017, 434 questions and 20 interpellations were introduced to Parliament. There were 4 debates following interpellations.

There were debates on the implementation of projects on modernisation and training in emergency aid and an overall strategy for the development of emergency medical aid; a policy to tackle the demographic issues of the country; state debt; and the policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry to regulate land relations.

The members of government answered 381 questions and 15 interpellations. The largest number of questions and interpellations were addressed to Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov (65), followed by Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Vulchev (40), Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Rumen Porozhanov (38), Minister of Environment and Waters Neno Dimov (33), Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov (30), Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Radev (27), Minister of Labour and Social Policy Biser Petkov (27), Deputy Prime Minister of Public Order and Security and Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov (22), Minister of Culture Boil Banov (19), etc.

The largest number of questions and interpellations were moved by MPs Georgi Gyokov (37), Georgi Svilenski (26), Svetla Buchvarova (24), Dimitar Danchev (20), Nikolay Tsonkov (19), Miglena Alexandrova (17), Georgi Stoilov (17), Kristina Sidorova (15), Stoyan Mirchev (14), Ivan Valentinov Ivanov (12), Nikolay Alexandrov (14), Ivan Dimov Ivanov (10), Georgi Yordanov (10) and Tasko Ermenkov (10).

BSP for Bulgaria parliamentary group introduced the largest number of questions and interpellations: 343 questions and 17 interpellations. 50 questions were moved by United Patriots, 24 questions and 2 interpellations by GERB, 13 questions by MRF, and 7 questions and 1 interpellation by VOLYA.
