Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva attended the celebrations of the 140th anniversary of the Liberation of the town of Kazanlak.
Today, when we pay homage to the heroes who lost their lives, we know that they fought with dignity and courage, they set for us an example of valour, stoicism and love for our Fatherland, said Tsveta Karayancheva in her speech at the fireworks parade to celebrate the anniversary.
Before that she received the parade order and guard of honour of representative units of the 61st Stryamska mechanised brigade. The citizens of Kazanlak re-enacted the events from 140 years ago when the town was finally liberated.
The historical events make us re-think again the work of the heroes in the name of our national cause and national unification, added the Speaker of Parliament in her address.
Tsveta Karayancheva urged that we should remember the past, be united as a nation and look ahead. Kazanlak is in the centre of Bulgaria, and in a similar fashion, Bulgaria will be in the centre of the European Union in the coming months, set the agenda for Europe and safeguard security, added the Speaker of Parliament.
Today, when we celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Liberation of Kazanlak, we should say that we are proud to build our future and throw bridges, emphasised Tsveta Karayancheva. Let us remember that the greatness of our Fatherland is a result of the work of those Bulgarians who lived with dignity and died as heroes, she added.
