Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has praised her Macedonian counterpart Talat Xhaferi for the ratification of the Friendship, Good Neighbourly Relations and Cooperation Agreement between the two countries by the Macedonian Parliament.
The ratification of the document is a historical step which confirms the will of our two countries to continue their efforts to build modern, good neighbourly relations based on European values, states Tsveta Karayancheva in her letter. She expresses her confidence that the agreement will boost the development of cooperation and friendship between Bulgaria and Macedonia in all areas.
In the letter to her Macedonian counterpart, Tsveta Karayancheva recalls that on 27 July 2017 the National Assembly unanimously adopted a declaration supporting the signing of the agreement and thus confirmed the broad political consensus and ultimate will to turn a new leaf in the relations between the two countries. Bulgaria will continue to support Macedonia’s efforts towards integration in the EU and NATO, she states and adds that one of the main priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, which our country took over only a few days ago, is the integration of the Western Balkan states.
