17/01/2018
Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has opened “The Spirit of Surva”, a photography exhibition dedicated to the International Masquerade Games Festival in Pernik. The exhibition, organised by the Municipality of Pernik to celebrate the forthcoming 27th International Masquerade Games Festival “Surva”, includes 25 photographs by 14 authors.
These 25 photographs help us immerse ourselves in the tradition, harmony and beauty, they make us feel the spirit of Yordan Radichkov’s works, said the Speaker of Parliament at the opening of the exhibition. The photographs show some of our rich cultural heritage, which we have a better chance to present during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, she emphasised.
Mayor of Pernik Vyara Tserovska thanked for the opportunity to have the exhibition presented in Parilament. The exhibition shows the Surva heroes in Pernik, and these are the people from the city, who prepare the International Masquerade Games Festival with love, hard work and commitment, she said. I hope that through the photographs you will be able to feel the joy of those who prepare the feast, the power of tradition, which can be best seen in Pernik, added the Mayor of the town and invited all who attended the event to the opening of the festival on 26th January.
Participants from the troupe of the town of Batanovtsi showed Kukeri costumes and dances during the presentation of the exhibition. I hope that they will help us evict the evil forces and that the new year will bring us good health, success and happiness, said the Speaker of Parliament.
