By 186 votes in favour, the Parliament unanimously ratified the Treaty for Friendship, Good Neighbourly Relations and Cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Bulgaria Maryan Gyrochev attended the discussion and adoption of the bill in the plenary hall.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva thanked everyone who had contributed to the drafting of the treaty throughout the years. She emphasised that the implementation of the treaty that had been ratified by Parliament had already started before the ratification, since representatives of both countries had been celebrating together holidays from their common history, and paying respect to the memory of historical figures.
The Treaty was ratified by the Macedonian Parliament on Monday.
