28/01/2018
Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has attended the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the Liberation of the town of Razgrad. The Speaker of Parliament took part in the flower laying ceremony at the Mausoleum of Russian soldiers and Bulgarian volunteers at the Revival square.
Today Razgrad celebrates the day of its Resurrection and return to the map of the free Bulgarian state, said Tsveta Karayancheva in her address.
Before being successful politicians, innovators, intellectuals, creators and workers, we have to be Bulgarians above all, as were our ancestors, inspired by the ideals of the Revival, said the Speaker of Parliament. Only a nation that has suffered and paid with the blood of its sons fighting for the national freedom and unification can write on its flag “Liberty or death!”, added Tsveta Karayancheva.
She emphasised that on this day we had to remember to pay respect to the memory of Russian and Bulgarian heroes who had lost their lives at the altar of our liberty.
Today is a day of celebration not just for you but also for Bulgaria, because our long-suffering land is soaked with so much heroic history that any of its corners would be so dear and precious to us, said the Speaker of Parliament.
Tsveta Karayancheva emphasised that this day’s celebration would always bring us together and blur the differences, and always give us the unification we needed so much when times were hard, and make us grateful Bulgarians.
