Culture and Media Committee Chair Vezhdi Rashidov had a working meeting with Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics as part of the 8th Asia-European Meeting of Minsters of Culture (ASEM), which is taking place in Sofia. Vezhdi Rashidov and Tibor Navracsics discussed the role of culture for preserving identity and cohesion between countries.

Vezhdi Rashidov welcomed the delegates to the event and said that the main role of culture was to preserve the memory for the generations to come. “History and mankind have not preserved anything but the cultural product which was an exchange currency for communication between peoples. It is not by accident that culture is said to be the best ambassador between peoples, because it always carries the image of economic development and perfection in man’s spiritual growth”, said Rashidov.
