Eytan Broshi, Chair of the Israel-Bulgaria Friendship Group at the Knesset, and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Emil Hristov discussed opportunities for cooperation in different areas, such as agriculture, defence and the environment. Eytan Broshi said that Bulgaria and Israel had similar interests and therefore they should help each other. The Deputy Speaker of Parliament explained about Bulgaria’s progress in the past years and mentioned that Bulgaria was holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Chair of the Israel-Bulgaria Friendship Group and Agriculture and Food Committee Chair Desislava Taneva discussed opportunities for deepening cooperation in agriculture. She said that the amendments to the Academy of Agriculture Act opened up new possibilities for doing research, which would contribute to the development of innovation in that area.
Chair of the Bulgaria-Israel Friendship Group General Konstantin Popov explained about the events related to the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It is very important for us to deepen bilateral relations, added General Konstantin Popov. Eytan Broshi mentioned Bulgaria’s contribution to saving Bulgarian Jews during the Holocaust.
