Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva attended a concert for the 119th anniversary of Pancho Vladigerov’s birth and the 25th anniversary of the “Pancho Vladigerov” Foundation in Shumen.
The Speaker of Parliament gave an honorary plaque of the National Assembly to President of the “Pancho Vladigerov Foundation” Prof. Mincho Minchev.
Today’s music celebration is an expression of our respect to the work of our eminent fellow citizen, a great composer, musician, and conductor, said Tsveta Karayancheva. She emphasised that Pancho Vladigerov was one of the most distinguished names in our music treasury, and thanks to his work Bulgarian culture earned international recognition.
The Speaker of Parliament added that the national and international competitions organised by the “Pancho Vladigerov” Foundation promoted the composer’s work and ideas and gave a head-start to many young musicians to the international music stage.
Tsveta Karayancheva assured the guests that the “Pancho Vladigerov” competition, the only international competition for pianists and violinists in Bulgaria, would continue to be held under the auspices of the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament.
The Speaker of Parliament congratulated the event organisers – Mayor of Shumen municipality Lyubomir Hristov and the “Pancho Vladigerov” Foundation – and complimented the symphony orchestra at the Bulgarian National Radio, conductor Mark Kadin and soloist Prof. Mincho Minchev on their superb performances.
