Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva will be an honorary patron of the 28th International Ballet Competition in Varna. On the 20th March 2018 she spoke with Dimitar Dimitrov, President of the “International Ballet Competition – Varna” Foundation, and Sonya Dimitrova, member of the Foundation Board.
I was pleased to accept the invitation to be honorary patron of the world’s oldest ballet competition, said Tsveta Karayancheva. She praised the foundation representatives for continuing the tradition to hold this prestigious, exquisite and beautiful competition in Varna.
Sonya Dimitrova emphasised that the ballet competition in Varna was the world’s oldest and most prestigious event of this kind, which the ballet community called Ballet Olympics. Its aim is to discover young ballet talents and open the doors for them to the international stages, she said. More than 120 ballet dancers from all over the world have applied for participation in this year’s competition, starting on 15 July 2018.
