A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva has attended the 138th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
Speaker of Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva, Deputy Speaker Dr Nigyar Dzhafer and MP Prof Georgi Mihaylov are participating in the 138th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, held in Geneva. Tsveta Karayancheva is head of the delegation of the National Assembly to the Inter-Parliamentary Union. More than 740 parliamentarians from 137 countries are taking part in the event.
The Bulgarian parliamentarians contributed to the debate on “Strengthening the global migrant and refugee system: the need of political decisions based on convincing data”.
As part of the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights, a draft resolution will be discussed on “Strengthening Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation concerning Migration and Migration Flows Management in the context of the Adoption of the UN Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration”.
