NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT PROF. OGNIAN GERDJIKOV MET WITH MIKHAIL FRADKOV, PRIME MINISTER OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Russia’s place among the investors in Bulgaria was one of the subjects under discussion during the meeting between National Assembly President Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov with the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov on Tuesday.
The two agreed that the relations between Bulgaria and Russia enjoy dynamic development and mutual trust in all areas and the level of political contacts is very high but there is still a significant potential for cooperation in energy and transport sector.
Gerdjikov stressed the importance for Bulgaria of the project for construction of the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline and voiced this country’s hope for political support by Russia in its realization. There is development on this issue and the all partners’ interests would be taken into consideration, Fradkov said.
The two politicians expect that the 9th Session of the Bulgarian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation will produce positive results.
