“I am sure of Bulgaria’s EU membership in 2007,” the President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus said at his meeting with National Assembly Speaker Prof. Ognian Gerdjikov.

Prof. Gerdjikov thanked for the Czech support for Bulgaria’s NATO membership and forthcoming EU membership. “We will rely on your support on 16 and 17 December in Brussels as well, when the European Council is expected to announce the completion of the EU accession negotiations with Bulgaria and to set a date for signing an Accession Treaty,” he said.

“Our two countries are interested in developing the utmost good relations at all levels,” the President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus said. The Czech Republic supports Bulgaria’s accession to the European Union, he added.
