The Parliament supported the presidential veto of texts of the Law on Measures and Actions during the State of Emergency declared on 13 March. At an emergency meeting of the National Assembly, 14 lawmakers voted in favour of the law, 118 opposed, 56 abstained. Thus the texts disputed by the head of state were rejected by the votes of GERB, BSP and MRF. Three members of the United Patriots opposed the veto.
The head of state vetoed price caps on goods and a provision that stipulates punishment for giving false information about the spread of a contagious disease.
The law was adopted on Friday, after nearly 14 hours of debate in the plenary room.
