During the state of emergency the National Assembly will only meet on bills and acts related to the state of emergency.
115 members of the Parliament supported the proposal of the Speaker of the Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva, 65 were against it and there were no abstentions. The members of the parliamentary group BSP for Bulgaria were against the decision.
The state of emergency was declared on 13 March with a decision of the Parliament and it will continue until 13 April. According to the decision voted today, the parliamentary scrutiny will be in written form, the parliamentary commissions will continue working.
During a state of emergency, extraordinary sessions of the National Assembly are to be convened according to the provisions of the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament with regards to who is entitled to convene the legislative body and when.
