Nikolina Angelkova led an online meeting with the US Ambassador Herro Mustafa. Representatives of various parliamentary forces and members of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – USA took part in the discussion.

The meeting confirmed the good partnership between the two countries. “Bulgaria and the USA are allies and strategic partners. Despite the complex situation, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our strategic partnership continues to progress,” Nikolina Angelkova said. According to her, this first meeting between Ambassador Herro Mustafa and members of the Friendship Group Bulgaria – USA will be upgraded and will continue in the future.

Ambassador Mustafa noted that the relations between the two countries need to be deepened. She underlined the importance of good bilateral contacts regarding the fight against COVID-19 and announced that on 20 November 2020 a joint donation campaign to fight the spread of COVID-19 will be launched by the U.S. Embassy and the America for Bulgaria Foundation.

“We thank the USA for the initiatives in support of Bulgaria's efforts to counter the spread of the virus. The COVID-19 pandemic illustrates how crucial and necessary our bilateral and multilateral transatlantic efforts and solidarity for health, prosperity and security are,” Nikolina Angelkova said.
