Evgeniya Angelova, the main representative of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Cooperation Process in Southeast Europe, took part in the meeting of the Standing Committee of the organization.
The Committee meeting took place online and it was chaired by the Turkish Parliament, the rotating chairman of the 2020/21 Process.
The priorities of the Presidency were presented and a brief discussion was held on the further institutionalisation of the Assembly and the related designation of the seat of the Permanent Secretariat.
Evgeniya Angelova pointed out that the main role of the Parliamentary Assembly is to work on current regional priorities and problems, and the lack of consensus on the issue of the seat should not dominate the agenda of the organization. Similar positions were taken by the delegations from Greece and Serbia.
The participants expressed hope that the pandemic will be brought under control in the near future and that the organisation's plenary session scheduled for June 2021 will be held in an attendance form.
