The Parliament approved the decision on establishment of a system of own resources of the EU for the new programming period and the increase of the contribution for Bulgaria

The Parliament approved the Decision (EU, Euratom) 2020/2053 of the Council on the system of own resources of the European Union and repealing Decision 2014/335/EU, Euratom.
The decision will apply for the new programming period 2021-2027 and with its entry into force a slight increase of Bulgaria's contribution to the EU budget is expected — on average annually by about 4.17 per cent (estimated for 2021-2023).
The decision was approved by 102 votes “in favour” to none “against” and 50 abstentions.
