The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Committee Boris Yachev awarded certificates to students from the UNWE for an internship at the National Assembly

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi">The Chairperson of the Commission for Combating Corruption, Conflict of Interest and Parliamentary Ethics Boris Yachev presented today to students from the University of National and World Economy certificates for internship in the National Assembly.

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi">For two weeks the young people were able to observe directly the work of the MPs – both in plenary and during meetings of the Anti-Corruption Committee. Together with the experts in the committee they examined and worked on various signals of suspicion of corruption and conflict of interests submitted by citizens and NGOs. In the words of Boris Yachev, such practical experience will be of great benefit for the students’ education. “I wish you professional development and why not a political career” the chairperson of the parliamentary Anti-Corruption Committee addressed the interns.

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi">The internship is within the framework of the Anti-Corruption Academy initiative which was launched in 2017 and was welcomed with interest by the young people. On 23 July 2020 the Chairperson of the Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission (KPKONPI) Sotir Tsatsarov, the Rector of the University of National and World Economy Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diana Kovacheva and the Chairperson of the Committee on Anti-Corruption, Conflict of Interests and Parliamentary Ethics at the 44th National Assembly Boris Yachev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi">The practical training is for students from the UNWE with at least a second year completed, from Bachelor’s and Master's programmes in the professional fields: Law; Economics; Administration and Management; Sociology and Political Science.

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi">During the past two weeks the students were in the National Assembly. As of Monday, they will be interning at Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission (KPKONPI).
