The President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and MPs presented flowers at the monument of Vasil Levski in Sofia on the occasion of the 148th anniversary of the death of the Deacon.
The President of the Parliament stated that Bulgaria remembers Levski's legacy and tries to follow it. “I hope we will be worthy heirs of the greatest Apostle of Freedom,” Tsveta Karayancheva added.
In her words, we live in a dynamic and complex time and there are many challenges we need to overcome. “We should draw strength from the spirit of Vasil Levski, from his love for Bulgaria. Everyone must remember, our children must remember what he left us – the idea of a pure and holy republic. And today, when we kneel before him, it's like the past intertwines with the present. We must remember our history,” the President of the National Assembly noted.
