National Assembly President Assoc. Prof. Borislav Velikov received Mr. Helmut Palder, Head of the European project “Institutional strengthening of public prosecution in Bulgaria for combating organised crime, economic crime and corruption”.

Mr. Palder informed National Assembly President about the development and results of the project. The two discussed judiciary reforms in Bulgaria, as well as the draft Penal Procedure Code.

Current political situation in Germany and the good cooperation between Bavaria and Bulgaria in judiciary were among the highlights of the talks.

National Assembly President Velikov sent a personal message to Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber expressing the hope for ratification in due time of the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria to the European Union.
