THE 39TH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY HELD ITS LAST SOLEMN SITTING
At 11.30 a.m. today, the 39th National Assembly put an end to its four-year term of office to the strains of the national anthem.
“The 40th National Assembly will be leaved what to proceed and develop, because the 39th National Assembly created the legislative basis and conditions for Bulgaria to achieve its foremost goals for the last 15 years – NATO membership and the signing of the Treaty of Accession to the European Union,” National Assembly President Assoc. Prof. Borislav Velikov said in his speech.
In his words, it will be a matter of short political memory if it is forgotten that the 39th National Assembly contributed to making Bulgaria a part of the European order and restoring the balance both in its domestic development and its international relations.
