MEETINGS OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT WITH ARMENIAN AND LEBANESE AMBASSADORS
Today, 3 August 2005, National Assembly President Georgi Pirinski met in succession with the Republic of Armenia's Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Sergey Manassarian, and the Republic of Lebanon's Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Mrs. Micheline Abi Samra.
National Assembly President Pirinski and Ambassador Manassarian expressed the interest of Bulgaria and Armenia in the development of intensive bilateral cooperation in all areas. Armenia is interested in Bulgaria's experience in European integration and the harmonization of the Bulgarian legislation with the European one in particular. Pirinski stated that Bulgaria is ready to share this experience with Armenia and stressed that the European prospect has inevitably become a keystone in contemporary Bulgarian-Armenian relations.
Parliament President and the Ambassador underscored the importance of active interparliamentary relations and the work of the parliamentary friendship groups in particular.
Ambassador Manassarian delivered a letter to Georgi Pirinski from his Armenian counterpart who had sent his greetings for the election of the Bulgarian Parliament Speaker and invited him to pay an official visit to Armenia at his convenience.

The prospects for deepening cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Lebanon was the main topic discussed during the meeting between National Assembly President Georgi Pirinski and the Ambassador of Lebanon H.E. Mrs. Micheline Abi Samra.
The cooperation with Lebanon is of importance for Bulgaria as this country is among the main Bulgarian partners in the Arab world, it was stressed at the meeting.
Georgi Pirinski and Ambassador Micheline Abi Samra voiced their satisfaction with the excellent level of the parliamentary contacts between the two countries, proof of which is the exchange of parliamentary visits in recent years. Both sides expressed readiness for further expanding and deepening of the bilateral parliamentary dialogue.
