MEETING OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT GEORGI PIRINSKI WITH TURKEY'S AMBASSADOR TO BULGARIA HYDAR BERK

National Assembly President Georgi Pirinski met with Turkey's Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Hydar Berk. In the course of the meeting Pirinski reconfirmed the invitation extended to his Turkish counterpart Bulent Arinc to visit Bulgaria in response to Prof. Gerdjikov's visit to Ankara in 2004.

Both sides assessed highly the dynamic development of the relations between Bulgaria and Turkey in all areas of public and political life. The cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries was regarded as a particularly important element of the intensive political dialogue.

The extremely intensive development of trade and economic relations was one of the subjects
under discussion during the meeting.

National Assembly President and the Turkish Ambassador agreed that their countries maintain excellent friendly and good-neighbourly relations and that they are a factor of stability in the region.
