Today, 23 August 2005, National Assembly President Georgi Pirinski met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Petr Dokladal.

Both sides shared the view that the deep historical and cultural relations between the Bulgarian and Czech people advantage active bilateral cooperation in all areas.

National Assembly President and Ambassador Dokladal expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation between the 40th National Assembly and the two Chambers of the Czech Parliament.

Petr Dokladal handed Georgi Pirinski several Czech legislative acts related to crisis and emergency management, who, for his part, will transfer them to the Parliamentary Ad-Hoc Committee on Overcoming the Consequences of the Recent Floods.

National Assembly President thanked the Czech Ambassador for the relief aid extended by the Czech Republic to the flooding-hit areas in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is interested in continuing to share the Czech experience of EU accession process and expected the due ratification by the Czech Parliament of the Treaty on Bulgaria's Accession to EU, it emerged at the meeting.
