National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski met the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Mr. Vladimir Lastuvka.

The Czech Republic will ratify the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria to the European Union till the end of this year, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Vladimir Lastuvka said at the meeting.

The Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament started the procedure of ratifying the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union last month. The Czech Republic fully supports Bulgaria on its road to EU membership, Mr. Lastuvka said. Next week the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Czech Parliament will consider the ratification of the Treaty, he added.

The two expressed satisfaction with the bilateral relations between the two countries. National Assembly Chairman Pirinski thanked his guest for the relief aid extended by the Czech Republic to the flooding-hit areas in Bulgaria and stressed the fact that the Czech Republic was among the first countries to help Bulgaria.

Pirinski informed Lastuvka that EU membership is the main topic in Bulgaria in recent months. He assured his guest that the National Assembly will keep working intensively on the adoption of all the legislation necessitated by the country's EU membership.
