National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski will pay an unofficial visit to the Republic of Italy from 17 to 19 January 2006. The visit is at the invitation of Mr. Pier Ferdinando Casini, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament

Georgi Pirinski will have meetings with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, Mr. Pier Ferdinando Casini, with the President of the Senate of the Republic of Italy, Mr. Marcello Pera, and with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. The programme of the visit also envisages a dinner with Bulgaria's Honorary Consuls in Italy.

On the second day of his visit to Italy, Mr. Pirinski will decorate Mr. Pier Ferdinando Casini, Mr. Marcello Pera and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Gustavo Selva, for their outstanding contribution to the ratification of the Treaty on Bulgaria's Accession to EU, as well as to the promotion of bilateral relations.
