On the second day of its official visit to Croatia, the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski, met with the President of the Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesic.

President Mesic emphasized the favourable political relations between Croatia and Bulgaria based on the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Economic dimension of bilateral relations, regional cooperation and its development in the context of European integration and the accession to the European Union of Bulgaria, followed by Croatia, were among the subjects under discussion during the meeting.

Today, the Bulgarian parliamentarians visited the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and met with its President, Prof. Dr. Milan Mogus. Later on, they conferred with the members of the Croatian Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee.
