NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CHAIRMAN GEORGI PIRINSKI WILL TAKE PART IN THE 5TH CONFERENCE OF THE PRESIDENTS OF THE PARLIAMENTS OF THE COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING IN THE SOUTH-EAST EUROPEAN COOPERATION PROCESS.

National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski will take part in the 5th Conference of the Presidents of the Parliaments of the countries participating in the South-East European Cooperation Process on 17 March 2006 in Athens.

Attending the forum will be Presidents of Parliaments and Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Policy and on European Integration of the countries participating in the SSECP.

The official opening of the Conference will take place on 17 March 2006, at 9 a.m., at the Hellenic Parliament. The forum will be chaired by the President of the Hellenic Parliament Prof. Anna Benaki and will be addressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Dora Bakoyannis.

The agenda of the forum includes the following subjects under discussion (in three sessions):
- The promotion of regional cooperation and ownership in the region: the role of SSECP.
- Issues of democratisation and civil society.
- The European perspective of the SEECP countries.

Keynote speaker on the issues of democratisation and civil society will be National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski.

The 5th Conference of the Presidents of the Parliaments of the countries participating in the South-East European Cooperation Process will adopt a declaration.

The Bulgarian delegation also includes the Chairman of the European Integration Committee Atanas Paparizov and the Member of the Foreign Policy Committee Yordan Velichkov.
