A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation, led by National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski, is paying an official visit to the Republic of Austria from 5 to 6 April 2006.

Today, 5 April 2006, the Bulgarian parliamentarians met with the President of the National Council of Austria Andreas Khol.

Bulgaria's expected accession to the EU was a major highlight of the meeting between Pirinski and Khol.

Today, the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation will also meet with the President of the Federal Council of Austria Sissy Roth-Halvax and the Chairs and representatives of National Council Committees on Foreign Affairs and on European Union Affairs.

The Bulgarian delegation includes:
- Mr. Evgeni Kirilov, MP of PG of Coalition for Bulgaria and Head of the Parliamentary Bulgaria-Austria Friendship Group;
- Mr. Vladimir Donchev, MP and Deputy Chair of PG of National Movement Simeon II;
- Ms. Maria Cappone, independent MP.
