CO-CHAIR OF THE EU-BULGARIA JOINT PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE CATHERINE GUY-QUINT - VISIT TO BULGARIA

24 - 29 JULY 2006

The Co-Chair of the EU-Bulgaria Joint Parliamentary Committee and Member of European Parliament, Ms. Catherine Guy-Quint, will pay a visit to Bulgaria from 24 to 29 July 2006.

On 24 July 2006, Ms. Guy-Quint will confer with Mr. Konstantin Penchev, Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court.

The programme of the visit on 25 July 2006 envisages meetings with National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski, Minister of European Affairs Meglena Kuneva, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dimitar Peytchev, Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Jordan Dardov, Prosecutor General Boris Velchev and Deputy Minister of Justice Margarit Ganev.

On 26 July 2006, Ms. Guy-Quint will meet the Minister of Interior Rumen Petkov, Members of the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation to the EU-Bulgaria Joint Parliamentary Committee, the leadership of the parliamentary European Integration Committee and the Bulgarian MPs - Observers to the European Parliament.

The Co-Chairs of the EU-Bulgaria Joint Parliamentary Committee Catherine Guy-Quint and Atanas Paparizov will give a news conference on 26 July 2006, at 12.00 noon.

The same day, Ms. Guy-Quint will confer with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgenia Koldanova and Deputy Minister of Finance Lyubomir Datzov.

On 27 July 2006, Ms. Guy-Quint will visit Plovdiv where she is scheduled to meet Plovdiv Regional Governor Todor Petkov and Plovdiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Dobrina Prodanova.

On 28 July 2006, Ms. Guy-Quint will visit Bourgas where she is scheduled to meet Bourgas Regional Governor Lyubomir Panteleev.
