Bulgaria has to join the Euro Pact is the   position of the Bulgarian government, announced PM Boyko Borisov before leaving for Brussels where he will take part in the meeting of the European Council. It is expected that at the meeting a decision will be reached to amend some parts of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU related to the future European Mechanism for Stability and to reach also political consensus on the Euro Pact.
PM Borisov stressed that although Bulgaria is not going to join the Euro Zone in the immediate future, signing the Declaration about the Euro Pact will contribute to its future membership. He added there will be no way to join the Zone later on if Bulgaria does not express support for the pact today and that the position of the government reflects the national interests.
