National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the Parliament have participated in the commemoration of the 175th birthday of Vasil Levski in his native town Karlovo

The National Assembly President Tsetska Tsacheva and Members of the Parliament have participated in the observance of the 175th birthday of Vasil Levski in his native town Karlovo and in the town’s holiday. The chair of the
Bulgarian parliament laid flowers before the monument of Gina Kuncheva, Levski’s mother, in the town’s Museum of Vasil Levski.


The deputies attended the Archbishop’s liturgy, led by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Plovdiv Nikolay at the tomb of Gina Kuncheva and joined the procession from Church St. Nikola to Square “July 20th”.


Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva attended the ceremony on hoisting the flags of the Republic of Bulgaria at Square “July 20th” in Karlovo and the mass served for prosperity of the town and its inhabitants.


The chair of parliament met with young members of the local parliament and leaders of the municipality. She received as present the symbol of the town – a gold-plated rose.


In the evening, Mrs. Tsetska Tsacheva took also part in the roll call ceremony dedicated to the 175th year since Levski’s birth and delivered a speech.
