The parliament has revoked the decision by which it elected Veneta Markovska as constitutional judge and has launched a new procedure. The proposal for revocation of the decision was made by MP Ekaterina Mihaylova and reached with 139 “yes” votes; there was one abstention. The PG of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms has not participated in the vote. 110 MPs voted in favor of the decision to open a new round of nomination and election for judge to the Constitutional Court, on the quota of the National Assembly. In addition the parliament has adopted rules of procedure with respect to the new elections. The rules mandate that the application process is to start on 22 November 2012 with the deadline set on 30 November 2012. The casting of votes will be held on 19 December 2012.
